Avon Preservation & Historical Society

Welcome!

The Avon Preservation and Historical Society was chartered as a not-for-profit organization in 1983. Our mission is to interpret and preserve the history of our local Avon, NY area. We provide diverse historic resources for the public through the use of extensive research materials, free educational programs and our fine museum.

We are proud to be located in the historic Avon Opera Block, hosting a treasure trove of artifacts in our Museum at 23 Genesee Street, and a selection of books and commemorative gifts. We host several free programs throughout the year.

The museum is open every Sunday from 1 - 4 pm.

AP&HS Meetings

The AP&HS Board meets on the first Monday of each month in the Town Hall boardroom, unless it lands on a national holiday. Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome visitors to join us. If you are interested in becoming a Board member, please contact us!
